Greater Akron Italian ice fans, rejoice. Rita's Italian Ice is coming back to the area. The Streetsboro Planning Commission approved plans for a new Rita's Italian Ice at the center of town. Rita's, founded in a suburb of Philadelphia, specializes in Italian ice, frozen custard and gelati. A location on State Road in Cuyahoga Falls closed in 2018 after the owner of the property sold the land to Acme Fresh Market for its expansion.
